Robert Hodgkinson is a Regional Forest Entomologist for the B.C. Ministry of Forests and Range for the Northern Interior Forest Region based in Prince George. Robert graduated from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Science degree in natural science and biology in 1975. He then completed a Master's degree in Pest Management at Simon Fraser University in 1980. Before moving to British Columbia, he was employed for several years by the Canadian Forest Service in Ontario and conducted aerial application research against the spruce budworm. He has been in his current position since 1980 and spends most of his time assisting District staff in managing various forest pests including, of course, mountain pine beetle. Robert is also a registered professional forester, a registered professional biologist, and holds a diploma in advanced silviculture from the University of British Columbia.
